Joanna R. Allen is an Attorney at AlderLaw, where she represents plaintiffs in all areas of civil litigation, including catastrophic personal injury, wrongful death, premises liability, and insurance bad faith. She is passionate about fighting for the underdog, as she has proven throughout her career focused on litigation.
Ms. Allen received her Bachelor of Arts degrees in Political Science and Spanish, and her Bachelor of Journalism degree in Advertising from the University of Missouri at Columbia. During that time, Ms. Allen was admitted to membership in Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society, the University’s Honors College, and Dean’s List. She also studied Political Science and Journalism while studying at the Universidad de Navarra, in Pamplona, Spain for a year. Ms. Allen later attended Southwestern Law School, where she graduated in 2010. During law school, she was selected as a Dean’s Fellow and a John J. Schumacher Leadership Award recipient, and served as a founding Board member of Southwestern Law School’s Negotiation Honors Program. She also studied Human Rights Law in Costa Rica and Law of the European Union in France. Upon graduation, she was selected as an American Board of Trial Advocates Fellowship recipient, where she clerked for the Honorable William D. Stewart of the Los Angeles Superior Court.
She is admitted to practice in California and the United States District Court for the Central District of California. She is a member of the Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles, the Los Angeles County Bar Association, the John M. Langston Bar Association, and the American Bar Association. Ms. Allen is also fluent in Spanish.
