Lyssa A. Roberts is a Senior Attorney with AlderLaw, PC. A native of Stockton, California, Ms. Roberts completed her undergraduate studies at Columbia University in New York. While at Columbia, Ms. Roberts was a member of the Varsity Swimming and Diving team and competed in Division I athletics for four years. She was elected as the team’s captain in her senior year and graduated with All-Ivy Honors in 1999 with a degree in political science. In 2001, Ms. Roberts returned to the west coast to attend law school at the University of Southern California.

Ms. Roberts has been practicing as a plaintiffs’ lawyer in Los Angeles since graduating from USC in 2004. She is deeply committed to the preservation of the jury trial and protection of the rights and interests of individuals who have been harmed by the negligent acts of others. She practices in state and federal court, specializing in the areas of personal injury, wrongful death, premises liability, professional negligence, products liability and environmental contamination. She has extensive experience litigating single plaintiff lawsuits as well as mass tort cases involving thousands of claimants. Ms. Roberts is a member in good standing of the State Bar of California and is admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court. She maintains an active trial practice and has been selected for consecutive years as a Super Lawyers “Rising Star” from 2009 to 2015. In 2011, Ms. Roberts was the recipient of the F. Scott Baldwin Award, which is presented annually by the American Association of Justice to a young lawyer for excellence in trial practice. Her legal work has resulted in over $40 million in settlements and verdicts for her clients.

Ms. Roberts has been an active member of the plaintiffs’ bar since 2004, including at the local, state and national levels. She presently serves as a member of CAOC’s Executive Committee and has been a member of the Board of Governors since 2011. She was appointed to the Board of Governors for the American Association for Justice in 2012 and has worked extensively with AAJ’s new lawyers’ division and to develop membership. Ms. Roberts was appointed as the vice chair for CAALA’s new lawyers’ program in 2011 and currently serves on the membership committee.
