Michael Alder"My job is to restore people's faith in our jury system. Our country's founding fathers devised a way to protect the little guy from big business or anyone else who was in a position of power and had the ability to exploit it, and wrote that into our Constitution. They realized that the right to a trial by a jury of twelve objective people who heard all the facts would result in justice being served the vast majority of the time, and would guarantee average Americans who are wronged a fighting chance against the big guys. Runaway juries are not this country's problem right now - runaway corporations and insurance companies who leave our citizens high and dry, while their executives get rich in the process, are our current nightmare. My job is to educate people about that fact, just as the insurance companies and big corporations are spending tens of millions of dollars to distribute misinformation about our justice system." Jennifer Burkes"I always say that if aliens landed on Earth and we tried to explain our current insurance system to them, they would say 'are you people crazy?' Because here's how it works: hard-working people pay big premiums to an insurer in order to get coverage in the rare event that something bad happens to them. If the bad event never happens, as it usually doesn't, the insurance company keeps all the money. On the unusual occasion when the bad event actually occurs, the insurance company immediately invests all of its resources not in paying the poor client and living up to their contract, but instead in trying to figure out ways to avoid paying the victim and avoid taking responsibility. It is scandalous, and I am thrilled to be on the side of the individual, helping people who need help at what is probably the worst time in their lives." |

Laura Sedrish"Before I joined AlderLaw, at the end of the day, I spent most of my time moving money around between rich people. As rewarding as my career and client relationships were, they cannot compare to the feelings of accomplishment I get from representing the individuals who choose AlderLaw as their counsel. I love the excitement of litigation, the thrill of trial, and most of all, the unbelievable feeling I get when I achieve success for my clients, who have usually been horribly injured and then cast aside by the system and treated like garbage by the insurance company. I am gratified that my daughters can see their mom making a huge difference in people's lives through her work - this is the kind of role model I always hoped to be." |
